A spooky short story collection. The tales include:
-"Black Dog": An interesting twist on black dogs in folklore like the Grim. Normally, black dogs are seen as omens of death, but in this story a black dog prevents the narrator's death ... for a price.
-"A Woman of Disrepute": A city is plagued by a ghostly serial killer known as Mother Goose.
-"Midnight Screams at Holborn": A couple spends the night in a haunted tube station near the British Museum.
-"The Cursed One": A team hunts a musical monster through the city of Venice on behalf of a secretive Order.
-"Something Wicked This Way Slithered": When Lily visits her grandmother, she realizes that something is off about the old woman...
-"The Jar by the Door": A creature that wears the skin of its victims preys on fellow tenants in an apartment
-"The Charterhouse Bullies": When Edward is being taunted by schoolyard bullies, the terrifying tales they tell to scare him seem to become real.
-"The Dead-House": A nurse discovers an alternate world located within the hospital's morgue. My favorite in the collection!
-"Meeting Oneself": A ghostly doppelganger prevents a tragedy. A rather uplifting story to end the collection on.
