I was anticipating the sad thing for CHAPTERS and then when it finally happened, I couldn’t quit crying. my biggest qualm with this book was there were quite a few times when I was just annoyed with Carrie Soto and her selfish need to be THE best, no matter how it affected those around her and her overall demeanor. but I will say, I love that all of the TJR books I have read so far have all tied in with themselves somehow so it’s a fun little reference to catch while reading.

GOD TJR just understands women so well. All the ugly nuances, the fierce competition, the fear, the longing, the complex relationships. The feather-daughter relationship is the heart of this book but Carrie Soto is the rest of the body, strong, smart, talented, interesting. I’m still thinking about it and will be for awhile.

This is my fist time writing a review. And this book made me stop in my tracks and made me want to write one. I don’t like or watch tennis but I fell in love with this book. Carrie is such a likeable character, despite all of her flaws. And maybe it’s because of her flaws that I liked her so much. But what I liked most about this book were all of the relationships, especially the one between Carrie and her father. Their relationship is beautiful. When he died, I felt her loss and experienced her grief. But all of Carrie’s relationships, with Bowe, with Gwen were perfect.

I always forget how much I love Taylor's books and how fast I get through them.
