Do I understand half of what’s going on or have any real idea what these characters look like? No. Did I have the time of my goddamn life? You bet your ass I did.
I found out about this book on TikTok, and I was very intrigued. I'm so glad I read it! I was hooked by the first page, and I'm eagerly awaiting the second book in the series.

When I saw the rating on here, I think I gave myself too high expectations.
I was really excited for the premise of the book and the start had me really intrigued, but it turned out the book really wasnt for me.
After Mary’s death and her discovery, it felt as if the book kinda lost the plot to me. The main character felt like she forgot who she was and became someone completely different, and the characters didnt act how id expect them to. It also took me out of the story when I realised that the Viathans only sent 3 people to retrieve the precious stones (Or atleast no one else was mentioned besides 99, August and the creepy guy). This seemed a bit silly for something that was a supposedly very important mission.
Idk I just think I was expecting something a bit more serious, and with glowing reviews I was very dissapointed that it ended up reading like a wattpad story to me.
