This was another wheel read, and one I’d had on my list for a while. I’d put this on my list from a recommendation, not really knowing what the book was or the background for it. Therefore, learning it was lost stories of Terry Pratchett that he had written when he was younger was really interesting. I don’t love a short story book though, which already had be biased towards this read, but the themes and ideas also aren’t really my cup of tea. It was a good enough read, just not really me.
Delightful and perfectly whimiscal. This was like having an extra slice of Pratchett, much needed to soothe the soul of his passing. My favourite story was Mr Brown's Holiday Accident.

An utterly charming collection of short stories in which the trademark wit of the more mature Pratchett we came to know was already present.
3.5* rounded up to 4.
The first Terry Pratchett book I read was The Carpet People, which I adored. Therefore it's no surprise that I also enjoyed these early Pratchett tales. Admittedly, some are a little rushed and some would be enhanced if I had more awarenesses of life at the time they were written. But most are still a joy to read and it's a delight to spot places, characters and ideas that would go on to be used in later works.

Usually, I dislike short stories collections because I feel like it's underdeveloped. But here, it's not the case. Maybe because most of the stories are 5 pages long. So it's not enough to feel like it's underdeveloped.
I had quite some fun reading those stories !

It’s a fun collection of short stories. They were confusing at times, and made me laugh at others. If you don’t know what the book is, make sure to research that a bit first. I’ve never read anything by Terry Pratchett aside from “Good Omens” which he wrote with Neil Gaiman. But this book came up as a recommended read for me and I’m really glad it did. It was funny and an easy read that I really enjoyed.
