I don’t think there was any question for me that I would love this book. Eden Finley is one of my favourite authors. The Back-up Plan turned out to be one of my favourites from her. If this is what we can expect from the new ‘Kings Sports’ series, sign me up right now.
Thad and Kelly are a great couple. It’s not really an enemies to lovers, it’s more of a one sided dislike to lovers. Once the dislike was over, and the romance kicked in, wooooo it gets hot.
The writing is sharp and witty, the storyline is involved enough to keep interest, but light enough for a softer read.
There’s humour and banter as well as sweetness and spicy heat. It’s a great mix of everything I look for in a comfort read
I loved the Damon content, he’s the Sadenverse GOAT and now he’s a sexy daddy type, I’m here for it! There’s some other well loved characters that pop up too.
On the whole this is a solid start to what I think will be a brilliant series, I can’t wait for more.

Fun spinoff!!
So happy to revisit Damon, from the Fakeout series. He owns a sports agents agency, moulding new internship into sports agents.
Interns that include his nephew Brady (Can't Say Goodbye) and Thad St James (who has a major chip). They are tasked with working with a new client, Kelley, who has anxiety issues.
Thad and Kelley get off on the wrong foot from the start, though they hilariously bond over trailing Brady.
For all the fun, banter and heat, Ms Finley handles the issues and emotions around anxiety disorders, (Kelley) and professional jealousy/struggling to make ends meet, (Thad) quite well.
Both guys have great chemistry and I enjoyed seeing them learn more about each other's struggles and become each other's support.
I loved seeing Damon again, especially his dry humour.
Though this can be read as a standalone, you'll get so much more by reading the Fakeout series (at least I did

It never ceases to amaze me when I read a book by Eden Finley. I haven’t read Brady’s story but that’s on my list now since I love MMM.
I fell in love with the dynamic between Thad and Kelly. I didn’t think they would have my heart so much.
Thad has been through it from not making it far with his dream of playing baseball and that’s why he resents Kelly in the beginning. Then, there’s the selfish brother of Thad’s, who he has to keep helping his parents.
And poor Kelly. His anxiety is so real that I just want to hug him. I love how they come together because they get to know each other on such a personal level. When Kelly sends money to Thad to help him out, it was the sweetest thing ever.
The ending was so perfect in the wrap up of these two. I never thought I could love a couple as much as I did for them. Kelly’s face when he saw the boxes just made me smile from ear to ear.
And I absolutely loved all the side characters that I needed more of. I hope we get stories from some of these lovely characters. And Damon… who doesn’t love Damon from the beginning to now?
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
