It was this specific book that functioned as my stepping stone from children's books to full novels. I remember I was in love, absolutely in love, with this when I was about 8 years old. So next time my dad went to the book store and let me browse on my own, I begged him to by me the signet classics version. That one is now my most beloved and cherished book. Not so great for older readers, but it's a great way to get any children you know to get interested in reading "grown up" books.
