Well, this had all of the elements needed for a young adult novel - character from the previous book plus a few extra - fighting without too much violence - some characters felt forced into this book though setting up the next book, which the ending of this one most certainly sets up, and rather poorly I believe - I enjoyed the first book quite a lot, but this one felt lacking in completion and more like the set up to another book instead of a concise thought - I am not happy with this book, but it was not horrible, so it is a three star young adult novel

I really liked this book! The action and the politics and war talk! And the ending makes me really want to continue with the next book!

When I decided to reread this series i did not think that i would enjoy these books even more now. But that was certainly the case for this one. I absolutely adore this book! I’m so happy that I decided to reread this series

Enjoyed this very much. Will gets in over his head with Evanlyn and Horace while saving his world. Does a mild, children's version of the Lord of the Rings from a Ranger's perspective with a touch of a medieval James Bond.

Oh my god. I did not expect that ending at all, it killed me. I love the authors writing so much and there is so much plot to go along with it! It's the best and I need the third book now.
And so much character dev. Like Will and Horace have really grown. Not gonna lie, I'm still kinda iffy about Alyss, though she seems to have a good head on her shoulders.
