I knew when I finished this book it was gunna mess me up but I didn’t expect to be crying for 10 minutes… All these detectives have come so far, and I have read so many years of their lives. I kinda feel like I am losing friends because this series is over.

With all that being said, this book wasn’t my favorite, but I also don’t hate it. I feel like this book fell a little short for me. If I had to rank the books this would be my order. (Favorite to least favorite) Roses of may, Butterfly garden, vanishing season, summer children. Though I am kinda torn because I really liked the overall story of the butterfly garden better than vanishing season, I liked the character development and how the story progresses in the lives of the detectives.

I am happy we got most the detectives POVs throughout the books. I feel like it added a lot to the books.

The plot twist / end was interesting but I don’t know if all the buildup made it a little underwhelming or if I just thought it was underwhelming despite all the buildup.

By this book I was more invested in the detectives person lives than the actual mystery.

This is one of my favorite book series. I definitely recommend it.
