The Vanishing Season wraps up The Collector series very well. Possibly the most emotional of the books, because we get to see SSA Eddison's story, and that of his missing sister – Faith – unfold. By this fourth book, I feel like the CAC team are old friends and so it was bittersweet to see the Eddison family finally find out what happened to little Faith.

The Butterfly Garden is by far my favourite book of the series and so it was nice to have my favourite Butterflies back in this book - along with Priya, Deshani, and all the agent's extended families and friends which, throughout all the books, you come to know pretty well.

The main storyline is dark and disturbing - something Dot Hutchison does very well! But it also ties up all the ends of everyone's stories, from right back at the beginning in The Butterfly Garden.

The final chapter was a lovely addition. Perhaps a bit "soppy" when you think of the contents and topics of the books, but it's nice to see the team, the friends and the families get their happy endings together.

I will gladly devour anything else Dot Hutchison has written or will write. If they're even half as good as The Collector series, they'll definitely be worth a read! πŸ¦‹

This is the best one out of the series. It’s a perfect wrap up.
