This book was an okay read for me. I did find that although the book seemed to drag a bit and could have been shorter, the ending was very quick and abrupt.

Extremely extremely predictable. Within the first three chapters you can guess exactly what’s going to happen. This book put me off of Jodi Picoult because of her positive portrayal of anti-Vaxers through the mother’s belief that it was vaccines that gave her son autism. Normally, I applaud Picoult in her way of portraying every point of view but the stance that vaccines give children autism is never okay to even mildly support.

A murder mystery without one of those essential pieces. I liked it, but the main characters read like stock characters. Maybe that’s why I liked it. I knew what to expect from them. However, they were all unlikable. I would like to control-find the number of times the phrase “jaw dropped” was used. It seemed like there were a lot of jaws dropping.

This book was so infuriating. It made it clear from the outset that Jacob couldn't lie so why on earth didn't someone just ASK him who killed Jess.

I also guessed very early on that he was covering for his brother.

Couldn't understand why Theo wasn't affected by his brother being on trial when he knew he wasn't responsible.

This was so much better than her last book. Very interesting reading.

Learned a lot about autism and the effects on the person as well as the family. Was disappointed in the ending since an easier outcome was so obvious. Nobody wanted to ask Jacob if he killed the girl simple question like that answered properly, and I guess there would’ve been no story..

I really liked the insight into AS this book provided.
I did however, find the ending a bit disappointing and rushed, considering the high level of detail in the rest of the book.
