Pretty good but I don't quite understand all of the hype

Bitches out here to break my heart man

I really, really adored this novel! Super phenomenal writing by Leigh and a cast of characters that are each so uniquely lovable while at the same time being incredibly strangleable (I know that’s not a word, it just feels appropriate). I feel like the ship I hear most often talked about from this duology is Ines/Kaz, but I personally was obsessed with Nina/Matthias. They’re perf!! I can’t wait to read the second novel at some point.

I honestly didn't like it; the story felt really slow and I had to stop reading a couple times and change books because I just felt like I was just staring at the words.

Maybe I couldn't get into it because it is widely popular right now (I know...hipster alert...).

I'm going to try again in a couple months and see what happens then. I really want to like the book. I really do.

Y’all have no idea how LONG I’ve had this book in my tbr. But anyway, I finally picked it up!

I was slightly nervous getting into this for several reasons. But it was mainly the hype around it that made me shy away from this book.

Overall I had a great reading experience.

The plot hooked me in from the very beginning and was interesting (and both amusing) to say the least.

The world building was good and the vibe is there. And honestly, it’s just so nice to be back in the Grishaverse!

But most importantly, I really liked the characters. Getting to know their past, their personalities, their traits and even their humour is by far the best thing.

Throughout the story they definitely grew on me. And reading this book is simply so comforting cause it feels like your part of the six of crows!

I’m so ready for book 2! Bring it on!
