The Passage

Mostly pretty good, although I never really felt connected to any of the characters, and, especially in the later part of the book, found myself getting slightly bored. The actual end-of-humanity bit that makes up the first 200-300 or so pages was pretty awesome.

I started reading this book because it was recommended in a list for those who liked Station Eleven. All I can say is that whoever put it on that list did not get or like Station Eleven.

This book has an interesting concept, but it’s overly long. The writing though not bad it’s far from beautiful. And it’s more horror and gore than intriguing dystopia.

This was my second attempt at reading it. First time I only got about  40 paged in. Though I did enjoy some of the story lines, it was not enough to keep me going.  I read some of the reviews, both positive and negative, and that was enough for me to know what this book is about and call myself done with it.

I really enjoyed this epic post-apocalyptic story about a government project to build super-soldiers that goes wrong. It's not just a fast-paced sci-fi thriller but also an in-depth and engrossing character study. Read my full review at:

I didn't put this thing down from start to finish. Great character development and fantastic plot. Loved it. This would be my "beach read" of the year.
