I didn't think scary books were my thing until I read this. It's easily on my Top 5 of all time.

Good book and easy read but I just can't read a series if all the books are 700+ pages.

NOW what am I supposed to do? >_<

Dragged a bit at some parts but overall a very solid read. I haven't had this much fun with a fantastical book in a while.

First-reads win! Looking forward to reading The Passage.

Beautiful, girl saves the world

Reviews on this are mixed...you either loved it or hated it! I loved it...though it got off to a slow start...the end picked up. If you like a little post-apocalyptic fiction...with some vampires mixed in...this one's for you! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!!

I liked this take on vampires being a government experiment gone wrong. The author also put a lot of thought into the realistic consequences of that such as variants of the virus and reactions to the virus.

There were a lot of emotional parts that hit hard, fast action scenes that sucked me in, and slow exposition chapters that felt like the story was dragging. The characters were all loveable and had their own unique personalities. The vampires were kept a mystery but Cronin provided enough information for their abilities, behaviors, and reactions to make sense.

I would have liked it if there was a better way to show the passage of time than spending chapters in exposition which felt like the story was slowing down.
