Not quite as funny as expected (though there was a passage towards the end that had me howling with laughter while sitting in traffic) but some of her stories were heartbreaking and I love her position on important issues.
Found this to be better paced than Anna Kendrick's memoir, but I wasn't as into as I was Lauren Graham's memoir.
It was funny enough, but my personal feelings and concerns about the author crept in from time to time.

Parts were great.
Even more parts could have really used at least a touch of editing. The book was pretty repetitive and read like the chapters were written out of order with little regard to what came before or after. (Again, editing could have helped.)
Amy gives her readers a strong message, though--be yourself, and be willing to be vulnerable! Laughed out loud at times, too. (Always a plus!)

I wasn't sure what I thought of Amy Schumer before reading this. Occasionally funny and good role model to young women were two things though. This book did not disappoint.
She's strong, she's funny, she overuses the word c*** and I have absolutely no issue with that.
Fully recommended

Is Amy Schumer the best writer ever ? No.
Is she one of the most empowering I have read to date ? For sure.
I had missed her.
The honesty, the vulnerability, the bravery, the intelligence, the derision... I needed all of it.

I enjoyed reading this book. The style is very self-reflective and almost like a personal diary. In other words the writing style isn't amazing but it gets the point across. Which is perfect, because this is a comedian writing a book, not a critically acclaimed author. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Amy Schumer herself, which I felt added more character and depth to the stories. I HIGHLY recommend listening to this one if you are interested in reading it at all. I was a fan of Amy Schumer before I read this, and I do think you have to like her style of comedy to find anything funny in this book.
Okay, I really like Amy Schumer I just really did not like this book. At first, I wondered if it was just because I was listening to the audiobook because her reading is a little unenthusiastic - but then I reread parts or read on in print format and still was not a fan. I think Amy Schumer is clearly a hard worker and some incredibly cool and difficult things have happened to Schumer, but the way she tells the story just felt disingenuous or like she focussed on the wrong things. There was a lot of "telling" rather than "showing" of her message and I felt a little beat over the head with the like "my mom is crazy", "being a woman is hard", "everyone kept me in the dark," "love your body even though I keep talking about how I look like a cactus". I could go on but I just kept getting pissed listening to/reading this book. Sorry, Amy, still like you.
I'm pretty torn on this book.
On one hand, I don't love Schumer's comedy, but I also don't understand why she catches so much criticism. I love that she seems unflappable, and maybe that is what makes people so mad. That alone is worth a 4 star review. I know a lot of folks whined about her info on gun violence, but more power to her for bringing this up. You never know who could be reading, and the minds you could be changing.
This book had a lot of self deprecating humor, which I don't feel like is my favorite look. It feels like a cheap shot, and it's always my last choice. I wished it would have been a bit more outward humor, but to each their own.
All in all, if you like her work or are just interested in her perspective, give it a go.
