So this is the kind of series that you don't read one and then come back 6 months later to read the next one. There's just too much going on. So I had to go back and read some of the 2nd one to get it. I'm still a little shaky on exactly who "The 4" are but at least I wasn't totally lost.

This was probably my least favorite of the Planetary graphic novels but that still puts it in the "pretty dang good" area. I need to get the fourth one now before I forget what happened in this one.

The larger story finally starts to come together here. We get more backstory on the characters and things look to be gearing up for a final show down. I'm still up in the air about this series, especially considering it's only got one volume left. Part of it may be due to the large gaps I had in between reading the volumes, so after finishing the last volume I plan on giving it another go all at once to see if it catches my attention better that way.

There's something about the delivery of that last issue that makes it some of the most interesting writing I've seen in the medium. The whole thing is one gigantic and ambitious "what if..." that keeps on winning, even though you're never quite sure of the direction it's taking.

Maybe one day I'll do a better job of reviewing this but... it's very good. I was constantly left with an impression of some kind, that's some strong writing right there.

More weirdness. More knock-offs of other things including in this one - Frankenstein, Dracula, League of Extraordinary Gentleman, Tarzan, Sherlock Holmes, Thor, HG Wells, James Bond - maybe a hint of Black Widow. There was some good back story in this one. Readable. Confusing. Enjoyable but not very coherent. 3.5 of 5.

Another great installment in the series; although rather complicated to follow... It makes more sense after the second read. This was not as good as vol. 2 -- it seemed much shorter and under-developed.
