I made the mistake of reading this one when my son was trying to sleep. He laughed a lot. He enjoyed all the colors, the bike, the animals. This book is great for young kids. Teaching them patience. It shows it’s okay to be sad, but sometimes without talking to someone or communicating there can be misunderstandings. I thought the illustrations were adorable.

This book was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

What an extremely cute book! Perfect for any child that wants to read a good book about birthdays.

Writing: The story is easy to comprehend and there's not too much text that it keeps a child interested throughout the story. There's a good buildup to the eventual surprise party which will delight any child.

Illustrations: I absolutely adore the illustrations! They are cute and too the point. Most of the page is an illustration which gives a child a lot to see and they can even make up their own story if they want.

I would definitely recommend this book to young readers. It's the kind of book that won't bore parents too much when they have to read it for the 100th time. It gets 4 stars from me simply because I've seen books that struck my fancy just a bit more.
