2nd reading
there's a lot of really good moments in this book. I like that Gina came out for a visit and that she knows about Suze being a mediator and doesn't freak out over it. it is slightly annoying to me, just as it is to Suze that sleepy and Dopey are fighting over Gina. I really enjoy doc and that he's willing to lie to a boy for her and she wants to protect him. also the ghosts in this one are pretty cool. Four teenage ghost that while they weren't perfect in life didn't deserve to die but were killed by a brother who was upset with their actions. father Dominic tends to annoy me so much because he refuses to accept the people aren't as good as he thinks they are, which often gets Suze into trouble. The ending with Gina saving the day and Suze ending up in the hospital was really good. At least the killer got brought to justice.

Somethong weird I noticed...every book says boys don't like her and yet in each she dates one. Granted they are not boys she really likes but still she does date.

I love this! The dead who want justice and revenge and Suze can actually give it to them if she wants. Karma.

In this installment of the Mediator series we get to meet Suze's best friend Gina and of course the requisite new ghosts and a new boy. I'm recognizing a pattern here. The ghosts are to be expected, the boy on the other hand ...

I didn't feel this book was as strong as the first two but it was still a fun and quick read so overall I'm happy with it. This series definitely falls into the "candy" area of reading for me - fun, fast and eith little substance, but a pleasure nonetheless.

Some books make me reconsider the way I view the world, or set my mind spinning with thoughts and ideas, or simply ensare me so deeply in their brilliance that it's almost impossible to surface for air. The mediator series is none of those things. It's just fun. But I think the world is okay for having a bit more fun in it.

My reread of this series is so warm and nostalgic I am incapable of in-depth critique HOWEVER aside from this being the weakest of the series the comparisons of the only Black character's skin to food and drinks is icky and warrants a few stars knocked off I love you Gina you deserve better

I finished this book in one day. That tells you everything you need to know... Onto the next one in the series!

This is like a fangirling mess, so read at your own caution

SpoilerThe adventures of Suze continue! I really loved having Gina come visit. She's also one of the few people who know about Suze's ghostly business and she actually gets to learn a bit more about it. Whenever I read books were the main character moves I feel like we never really get much from their past friendships, it's just like oh well I moved must cease contact. We got more interaction with Suze's stepbrothers because of them vying for Gina's affections. Out of the three brothers I always feel like Jake is the one I know less about cause he's always working or sleeping (hence the nickname Sleepy) but him and Gina have a little thing so he's more active and talkative in this book.

Speaking of Suze's stepbrothers, their casual use of the word "mom" in this book just throws Suze for a loop every time it's mentioned. She's just like whoa, wait, when did they start referring to my mom as just mom in reference to them. I like that that shows how they've really kinda accepted their new family status. They have no problem with it. And, ya know, Brad and Suze already fight like brother and sister. Suze took quickest to David cause he's younger and adorable. And Jake's basically been acting like big brother since he went to her aid at the end of book one, I really love when he plays big brother like in this book.

And as usual there's always some Suze/Jesse moments that make me squeal with glee. This interaction especially:
"I don't understand why you are so unhappy about it," Jesse said. He had stretched out across the tiles, contented as I'd ever seen him. "I like it much better this way."
"What way?" I groused. I couldn't get quite as comfortable. I kept finding prickly pine needles beneath my butt.
"Just the two of us," he said with a shrug. "Like it's always been."

JUST THE TWO OF US!! HE LIKES HIS ALONE TIME WITH YOU SUSANNAH!

I think my favorite scene from the book though is when Suze, Jesse, and Father D go down to the beach where the RLS Angels died and talk to them. I liked the trek down there and all the different interactions that went on. And then getting the whole story about how they died.
