I’m not a huge fan of Kings’ writing style, but this book is a classic for a reason

Não é atoa que o livro é um grande clássico. A construção e os simbolismos da história são perfeitamente trabalhados. Da mesma forma que o mal do overlook espreita os Torrence, a narrativa espreita e impressiona quem está lendo.

I've been blessed this year by the kind of books I feel I've been lacking for the past few years...books that keep me up reading all night until I've finished them.
One of King's finest works. A fantastical, frightening and deeply personal portrayal of alcoholism, abuse and the pervasive fear that those things inevitably bring. King's characters are as developed and likeable as ever which makes their struggles all the more devastating to witness.
A novel so wholly different than the Kubrick adaptation that I honestly don't feel comfortable even comparing the two in this review. I can say, however, that I will be going out to acquire a copy of Doctor Sleep tomorrow.
