yeah Kubrick really made this one his own in terms of the movie, for better or worse (for slightly better)

the beginning I felt was kind of circling around a lot of different ideas, which made it a little hard to get into (I've been reading this book for a while now, in the midst of also reading others). but once those ideas started to become realized, I could not put it down.

lots of complex and interesting themes with some beautiful prose, and I loved the surrealist aspects

I was not the biggest fan of the ending though, which I felt was trying to lead right into a sequel (it did). it didn't feel all the way complete, to me

but a great great book
