i just love these books. although this really could’ve been 3 books instead of 2, but after that ending i have a feeling another book will come soon enough

i loved this so so so much! the ending of the last book was so insane that i was hooked the entire time.

i love these characters so much. they mean the world to me and i’m so happy Leigh didn’t pull another Crooked Kingdom (although, it was close :’)), because then i’d genuinely just lose my mind and end it all.

Zoya and Nikolai, my loves. Queen and her mans ❤️

Nina and her prince 🥹 i’m so happy for them. i hope they can just live happily in peace forever. they’ve been through so much.

and him pulling the “hero” card at the end?! absolutely crazy. still, i hate him so fucking much.

it was so nice seeing the crows again (even though it was only for like 2 chapters haha) ahhhhh i love my family so much ❤️

the ending, though… y’all!!!! the last page?! hopefully this means a certain duology is gonna have a 3rd book… and with a happy ending, obviously 🙃

Spoilers ahead....

After mulling over this book I've decided to give it three stars.

Leigh Bardugo is a brilliant writer, there can be no doubt about that. She has that perfect blend of literary style, character development and plot. However, I was really disappointed by this book.

Whilst the story was good, I felt like it was rushed and also veered away from the fact that it was supposed to be the end of a duology which revolved around Nikoli. I felt like he had barely any time in it.

The Darklings return was disappointing as was his interaction with Alina and Mal.

That being said, I loved Zoya's chapters and the beautiful descriptions of the world that Bardugo has created.
