This second book in the Philadelphia Coven Chronicles gives us a redeemable alpha male, which is a favorite for me, especially if he's done right. And I'll just throw in here that Katherine McIntyre certainly got it right as far as I'm concerned. The more I learned about Liam, the more I liked him. Of course, likable and redeemable or not, Jev doesn't make it easy on him, but then she wouldn't be a McIntyre heroine if she did. Liam and Jev give great banter, and their chemistry is off the charts. Whether they're battling one supernatural creature or the next, trying not to taste Liam's mother's baking, or squeezing in some alone time, these two are good together. This is part of a series, and the author explains things well enough that it can technically be read as a standalone, but I would strongly suggest reading them in order because you won't want to miss anything in this fast-paced urban fantasy. Like the first in the series, this one is action-packed and loads of engaging entertainment. We do get a hint about what's next, and I can't wait to see where that story goes.

The danger, suspense, intrigue. and humor captured my attention. Lain and Jev have incredible chemistry. This is a very enjoyable supernatural read. I love all of the different supernatural being/creatures.
