This book is phenomenal. I enjoy taking my time reading this book. I really enjoyed the very details way of things was described. This fiction read has me excited for the next book.

The cover is gorgeous and it’s even more stunning in person. This book is slow paced and leaves you with lots of questions for the sequel!

I really wanted to love this book, but that didn’t happen. It’s basically 320 pages of plotting slowly (but no real feeling of tension) and then the last 15 pages everything happens and then the last page and it’s this super anti-climactic ending. The world built here, including African elements, was really cool! You don’t see that often, so I really enjoyed reading that aspect of it. Unfortunately this book just didn’t live up to its potential. Characters were kind of undeveloped, and the inclusion of that completely unnecessary romance was annoying.

Poetic words, a stunning setting, and two great heroines. Daughters of Nri was a fascinating read, and it would have been a 5 star work, had the pacing not been off. The strict chronology makes the work tedious to read. I think the ending should have been the beginning, and a lot of the scenes could have been used as flashbacks. This really was a shame since the author’s writing is just beautiful.

The ending was a little abrupt, but otherwise, this was really enjoyable.

I loved this book! This book gave me all of the emotions, it even made me cry and I haven’t cried over a book before. The two main characters where greatly portrayed and the back story’s where done nicely too. I will not give away any spoilers. I recommend this book very highly!!
