It’s fun to re-read a favorite book from my high school years.
There were so many aspects of this book I could see myself loving, a few that I appreciated but simply weren't to my own personal taste and some parts I had issue with.
Starting with the aspects that I really liked: Of course I enjoyed the dragons, world and sociopolitical system. I also liked the dynamic between Ramoth and Lessa. As an avid fantasy fan I can see how these stories have impacted the genre and it was great to see the origin of some topes etc.
The parts that are completely down to my own taste: I'm not a fan of time travel most of the time, something that is prevalent in this story. I also like my fantasy books to be meatier and longer with lots of worldbuilding and though the world in this was certainly interesting I would have liked to have spent more time in it before kicking off the action (again entirely subjective).
The parts that actually docked stars significantly for me was the relationship between F'Lar and Lessa. I have read plenty of problematic romances. I think my issue here was the romanticising of abusive behaviour and it not being addressed as problematic.
Overall, I can understand the appeal, it simply wasn't for me. If I saw the next book going for 1€ I would give it a go but it's not something I'm in a rush to continue.

Wasn’t a fan of the writing style. Couldn’t get engaged enough to care about the characters.
