Shadows lurk over the Bravelands after the death of the Great Mother and a new Great Father takes her place. Sky now looks for the truth behind the murder and the new Great Father. Thorn battles with staying quiet about the secrets he knows or risk threating those he loves and himself. While, Fearless is struggling with being under the rule of Titan, his father’s murder, and watching Titan extend his power.

This book was better than the first. The secrets hovering around the Bravelands drove the suspense. Titan’s hunger for more power is even more evident in this installment. His violent methods to show his power bring a major heartbreak to the series. Stinger shows much more of his true colors in this book. Thorn is the only one who knows of his treachery and struggles with doing the right things while protecting himself and his friends.

The characters are some of the best part of this series. Both Titan and Stinger make great villains. I also can’t wait to see more of Ruthless and how he develops alongside both his father and Fearless. The cliffhanger was very intense. I’m really looking forward to reading the rest of this very well written series.

This book made me upset. I mean seriously, is Thorn literally the only intelligent creature in Africa?! Everyone of every species is utterly brainwashed and irritating.

But I couldnt put the book down for just this reason. I kept the pages turning, hoping that SOMETHING good would happen. Dare I say it, this series may even be darker than even Warriors. This is a fresh, exciting series, and I'm eager to find out where it goes. This is only book 2, so I hope it doesn't lose its momentum. But so far I highly recommend the series.
