I read this for the first time as an adult and I can totally see the resemblance to existing works in the fantasy genre. That being said, it's still a fun read if you like adventurous story with dragons and magic.

The story kept me interested. I liked it. Might read the next one at some point.
The story was fun to follow and had some very strong moments within it but im not sure I liked it enough to be interested in reading the second. We shall see!

I definitely see why 6th-grade-me was so enamored with this book, but sadly 28-year-old me was less impressed. A fun nostalgic re-read for sure, but I think once I finish the series I probably won’t come back to it.
