I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected to. I thought it might be a little fluffy but the plot was pacy & the characters were well written. Strong, independent women getting on with it dealing with prejudice in small town Kentucky.

Absolutely loved the book, it is the second one I’ve read of Jojo Moyes and more will certainly follow. I loved going back in time and it was hard to put down, which I didn’t ....
4.5 stars!

The premise of The Giver of Stars alone had me hooked - pioneering women delivering books to remote areas of Depression-era Kentucky. Jojo Moyes brings this rugged, isolated setting to vivid life as her defiant female characters rebel against societal restraints, and the unlikely sisterhood that forms among these women as they unite over their shared passion for spreading literacy. Their arduous journeys forge unbreakable bonds and newfound senses of purpose.

The Giver of Stars is a richly satisfying exploration of female solidarity, the transformative power of books, and embracing the courage to blaze your own trail. Simple yet impactful storytelling at its finest.

This book took a bit for me to get into, but I really enjoyed the history of the librarians, something that was new to me. I didn’t love the drama/tension throughout most of the book but I am happy with ending and was glad that I read it.
