Definitely a page turner. Starts off almost purely as a narrative and then transitions into a more Christian vs. Islam debate later on. Not a boring Christian book at all. Doesn’t come off as a Christian apologetics book like I thought it would. Nabeel was a devout Muslim and doesn’t shy away from it. He doesn’t put Muslims in a bad light, he actually provides context to Christians on the Islam perspective, what/why they believe, how the culture influences them, etc. I feel like as a narrative it falls short in a couple of aspects when it comes to keeping track of the entire timeline, especially at the end not providing much detail about his parents and best friend. This latest edition has some bonus content taking care of that luckily. Overall great book and can be an emotional read as well.

Honestly a great book. If you know a Muslim this is a must read / listen! I opted to listen to the audiobook read by the author. You can really hear the tragedy and triumph in his voice. It's like having an author bare his soul right before you.

Great book on Christianity triumphing. I found his story very interesting of his dedication.

Would recommend to all!

3.1/5

Born in the United States to Pakistani immigrants, Nabeel Qureshi grew up in a loving family, his religion one of the most consistent and beloved elements of his formative years. As a child and youth, he enthusiastically learned the facts and doctrines of his religion, eager to be an ambassador for Islam among his peers. Not until college did he meet a Christian who was willing to be his friend. As two young men passionate about their faiths, Nabeel and David often discussed religion. Through those discussions, Nabeel found his perception of Christianity and its flaws to be inaccurate. And in his efforts to disprove Christianity and confirm Islam, he also uncovers inaccuracies in his perception of Islam.

When a friend recommended this book to me, I anticipated a story about conversion and ensuing persecution. Because it was recommended by someone I trust, I never read the synopsis to correct my expectation before reading. Instead of Nabeel's conversion occurring near the beginning of the book, it concludes it. Instead, [b:Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus|18289396|Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity|Nabeel Qureshi|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1386802223s/18289396.jpg|25818274] predominately offers Christians a sympathetic, inside look at an everyday Islam that rarely gains news coverage--a religion truly believed to be a religion of peace and truth by its followers.

A missionary who sometimes visits my church likes to say, "Muslims are not the enemy. Our battle is not with flesh and blood." This book humanizes that flesh and blood. It gives an honest perspective on what many Muslims believe as well as the cracks in the foundation that many are not aware of. It shows how genuine, persistent friendship can have eternal rewards. And it gives a raw glimpse of the many barriers between Muslims and Christianity.

Definitely recommend this one!
