This one had all sorts of buzz when it was coming out monthly for, it turns out, pretty good reasons. While it predates the DC Ink line of graphic novels, it absolutely reads like it's a part of it. It's a standalone, continuity lite re-envisioning of a popular superhero for a young adult audience--no costume, lots of school, supervillains are the afterthought. Definitely a solid read. My only real issue is that, considering the hype and the powerhouse team behind it, I was expecting it to be a little more than that.

Wonderful! A great new take on Supergirl and her story! I believe there will be certain aspects that will be very relatable to some readers, especially that of not knowing exactly who you are and having questions about it. Loved it!!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the e-ARC copy!

I liked what is what, the art style was nice, but it definetely didn't feel original. I still had fun reading it though so eh

I adored this book and it was only inevitable because gosh, I love Kara Danvers. She is such an angel and all brightness and light and goodness. SUPERS ARE THE BEST.

I was honestly a little surprised when Kara's friend died at the track meet, but I think moments like these are important for super heroes, and especially Supers. No matter how strong they may be, no matter how much it may seem like nothing is impossible for them, some things are. And watching Kara grapple with it, all while being a teen and getting a handle on her powers, is a powerful and compelling and beautiful narrative.
