It was easy to suspend my disbelief for this book and I overall enjoyed the writing, the themes, the generational parallells and the flaws of the characters. It also had some questions in the end in case you're reading it for a book club, which was cool.

There is simply nothing wrong with this book.

I love that Burton confounds our expectations of how a book like this will end.

I was looking forward to reading another book by Jessie Burton, but was disappointed by it. I didn't feel invested in the characters nor care what happened to them."you need to understand whatever decisions you make in life, there will always be loss... you must be prepared to regret a decision you thought you will never regret – but regret, in my experience, is never permanent" p324
