I have to say that this series has really improved as they continue. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy Starflight’s book after reading the other three books but the new character Fatespeaker really grew on me and then I liked Starflight’s development.
Though the story is coming together and Glory’s story continues to develop, I cannot imagine which queen they will pick.
I cannot wait to ready Sunny’s story and find how she felt about the things that happened in this novel.

Great book, but as of now my least favorite in the series. Starflight was more interesting to me when we didn’t hear his point of view and constant self-doubt. I know these books each focus on growth and he really grew an amazing amount! And we learn a bombshell about the prophecy. I also feel like the last 2 books have really shown the dragonets growth. And I’m very excited to get Sunny’s POV here soon in the last of this series!

My niece and I are still reading the Wings of Fire series together. The first series under that title is five books long (then there are other spinoff series/books) and this one is #4, [b:The Dark Secret,|17675467|The Dark Secret (Wings of Fire, #4)|Tui T. Sutherland|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1368813111l/17675467._SY75_.jpg|24679204] so you know things are building to a climax. There were some exciting twists revealed here, some stuff I guessed, some stuff that caught me off-guard! And like the previous books, the narrator (this time Starflight) had his own growth. He went from being the most timid of his siblings to someone who takes risks, takes charge. I didn't enjoy the volcanic setting as much as I did the sea kingdom or the rainforest, but then, I wasn't supposed to; it's deliberately a very desolate, depleted place. The creativity and world-building was still there in spades, this series' trademark brutality is back in force, and holy CRAP, the NightWing queen!!! (I have some concerns re: how they're going to resolve the sensitive issue of war crimes such as 'non-consensual medical experiments.' That's... Not something that should just be brushed under the rug. I hope the author handles it carefully.)

This one hasn't quite been my favorite of the series so far, while still enjoyable, it didn't quite have a lot in it until the end, not like the other books do. That still didn't mean it wasn't enjoyable! Just a lot more of a filler in my opinion
