Personally loved this book! Such a cozy listen (audible) and exciting story at the perfect speed. I enjoyed the wittiness, the glamor, the characters, the time era, the environment and overall picture the author painted. Almost has a Gatsby-Gilmore Girls vibe. Loved it. I’d say a 4.5/5 instead of 5. Would love to checkout other books from this author.

Gorgeously written, with all The Great Gatsby feels. Deducting a star as it was very slow to get going, and the ending felt rushed by comparison.

Laini Taylor describes this book as "I Capture the Castle meets Gatsby" and that's exactly what it is. You get the sweet coming-of-age tale, loving quirky family, and yearning for something bigger mixed in with the scandal, mystery, and glitz of high society. I loved getting lost in the beauty of the Cornish shores and the glamour and extravagance of the private island. It's the perfect escape read for lovers of romance and period detail.

I was torn between a 3.5 and 4.0.
Since I quite enjoyed this book I decided to round up.
I thought this was a cute and quick read. I liked the main characters but the other characters sorta blurred together after a while. If you find a copy or have the time, I would recommend it. :)

This book did not help my issue of developing feelings towards fictional characters.
