I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! What an exciting and entertaining read! The characters are a highlight of the story, each offering their own unique flavor and personality to the story. Swayzi is a tremendous main character. While I had some issues with how the world building was presented, I still fell in love with the world it was set in. It has a bit of a slow start, but stick with it because the second half of the book is worth it.
Also, as an added bonus, this book fulfilled a reading dream of mine! I don't want to say it because #spoilers, but it has to do with the love triangle and how Swayzi deals with it. There's also a beautiful moment in the last fight that I loved but I again don't want to share because #spoilers. But it's soooo good!
BTW, #TeamTyler 😉

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Oftomes Publishing!
Empress Unveiled tells the story of Swayzi, a seventeen-year-old girl who’s been sick for almost her entire life. She’s always visited hospitals together with her mum, Tyler and Penelope but everything changes when she meets the mysterious Daylan.
I loved reading Empress Unveiled because I loved the world Jenna Morland’s created. The character, the realms, the supernatural creatures, … The story was just so great that I couldn’t help myself and finished it in one day.
One of my favourite characters is Daylan. He’s so mysterious, he motivates and inspires Swayzi to do so many great things, he has black wings, and even his name is cool. And if you couldn’t tell by now, I’m team Daylan and not team Tyler, but I’m not sure with whom Swayzi will end up.
Empress Unveiled was such a fast paced, well-written fantasy book and I cannot wait to read the sequel!

Fast paced fantasy book with Faeries, demons and not one but two heartthrobs....
I picked this book up at YALC from the OfTomes Publishing table and admit that the cover was the massive draw for me. I’m a sucker for a pretty cover. I then read the blurb and new it was right up my alley... it had Faeries, it had teenage angst (yes I’m old but I still love a bit of drama) it had action and it had heartbreak and magic.
So the book is about 17 year old Swayzi Salasta who is dying from an incurable disease that Doctors don’t know how to treat or even able to diagnosis. This hits home right away and makes you feel for her. 17 and knowing she has months yes months to live!
Throw in a handsome best friend Tyler who has been there from the start and a sarcastic best friend Penelope you have a good start to the book.
It gets interesting when Swayzie sees something one night whilst out with Tyler and as the saying goes her life changes from that moment. Enter the dashing young Daylan with his handsome face and instant attraction for Swayzie. Then as if by magic Swayzie starts to become well and her life seems to get better.
Enter the twist in the book where Swayzie finds out about her heritage and the darkness that follows her.... I won’t say more as I want you to read the book!
All I can say is I nearly cried at the end I did not want a certain thing to happen but it did! A very enjoyable young adult fantasy book that ticks all the boxes if you want a fast paced read with magic infused throughout.
My one gripe about the book is that the ending happened a little quickly but it was still enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the next book with more world building and more secondary character action!

Received an ARC from Publisher for review.
A wonderful debut from Jenna Morland. Im already counting down the days to the sequel.
Seriously, I NEED to know what happens next.
This novel is an easy read to binge on a Sunday with a cup of tea, which is exactly what is needed right now the weather is going bad. Jenna delivers a unique take on Paranormal Romance that genuinely had me surprised.
The second half of the book is what truly made me love it, and add an extra star to my rating.
HIGHLY recommend.
