This book is a love letter to everyone who has ever been made to feel that they don’t belong. You deserve a family who loves you just as you are, even if that means you have to go out and find them for yourself.

This is a beautiful story that weaves a narrative around chosen family and standing up for what you believe in around a world of magical beings. It's been a truly heartwarming read and quite difficult to put down.

A very charming book. Still undecided how I feel about the Sixties Scoop thing, but I thought it had its weaknesses aside from that. I didn't love the children the way I was supposed to and some conflicts were resolved too easily, almost off-screen. I also feel this should have been marketed as YA even though the protagonist is in his forties, but that's probably on the marketing team more than Klune.
