A very lovely, simple book of the kind of world I wish we all lived in.  The kind of world where one man can make a difference and where those who are different and rejected find the love and acceptance they need

After having to borrow and wait and attempt to renew this audiobook 3 or 4 times, I’ve come to realize… it’s just not for me. The book is so highly rated, so I really wanted to give it a chance. Maybe I’ll circle back to it at some point, but right now, I’m left feeling like the pace was too slow and the main character was beyond bland.

I finished this 8 hours ago, at 5:30 in the morning, and I still have no words. The grasp these children, this character, this book have on my heart is unparalleled, I haven't felt this for a book in such a long time.

I already fall so easily for the found-family trope, but when you add queerness to it I just can't help but melt in a puddle. Yes, it's cheesy. Yes, it's predictable. No, that never takes away from it. In times like these, when everything seems so horrible and hopeless, this book is a warm blanket wrapped around you, offering you some hot chocolate and a tight hug as well. May we all find a place like Marsyas - a home where we can be ourselves, where we can blossom, and, most importantly... where we can be loved.

This book is so many things, and I wanna do it justice for a review. First off I read this because I thought I wouldn’t like it. I thought it was gonna be one of those throw away books. But from the first chapter it literally pulled me in and gave me so many emotions and thoughts that left me so hopeful in a world so unfair currently. By the time I met the kids, I was lost in this worldwind of so much joy and hope in kids who have only known hate because of how they look. I just feel too much to say about how this book was. I’m afraid to read the sequel because I just like how hopeful it was
