This is a collection of steampunk short stories and poems that are set or partially set in New Orleans. The description on the back is very alluring, but it doesn't quite live up to the contents. Perhaps it's more a description of what steampunk is than a representation of the stories?

The steampunk genre is interesting. Mostly, in this collection, it was about airships. Lots and lots of airships. I did find the reorganization of countries and alliances interesting as well. Some of the stories are adventurous and engaging and some just left me confused. What I found most lacking, though, was the spirit of New Orleans. I wanted more of her life in the stories, not just the location.
