A good read for someone not shy about vulgar and dark humor. I think it was a bit much for me so u won't be following up on the sequel but it was a unique enough story! I've never heard anything like it before.

Don't read this book, especially if you happen to like Palahniuk's other work. It's as whiny and rambling as the diary of a 13 year old girl stuck in Hell for eternity would be, without any of the redeeming wit of Chuck's other novels.

There's only been 2 Palahniuk books I did not like and this was one of them. The plot and the characters lacked that Chuck P. magic he does so well. All of his books have the gore and weird sexual exploits going on but this was just too goofy and childlike for my tastes and it definitely wasn't classic Chuck Palahniuk. I'm not really looking forward to reading the rest of this trilogy just because I don't want to be disappointed again.

DNF - 103 pgs

It started out so promising. I just found myself bored and having to force myself to continue until I just admitted that this just isn’t the book for me.

I realize this is satire. In fact, the satire is very in-your-face. However, it just came across as stupid to me. I really hate that I feel this way, I wanted to like this one.

However I know how lauded Chuck is, so I’m going to try more of his work. This just wasn’t the book for me.

I did buy this one though, so the chances are good that someday I’ll find my way back to give it another shot.
