Devoured this in a few days. Loved it. My husband read right before or after and also devoured. The behind the scenes stuff is rich.
This book is terrible. It is a typical beltway analysis that emphasizes the significance of trivial events and misses the larger issues that shaped the election.
As a poli sci nerd, this kind of political soap opera is right up my alley, especially since it concerned the most exciting presidential campaign of my lifetime (so far). This reminded me of Primary Colors, which I also loved, although this one didn't even have the veil of "fiction" to hide behind. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the drama of politics and is willing to set aside any misgivings that accompany an accounting based almost entirely on anonymous sources.
even as an avid follower of the 2008 election season, this book was very interesting.
I guess my own future run for president could be pretty hectic...

This was a book I didn't really want to put down and I liked all of the inside information that we weren't privvy to during the election. It is fairly tabloid (in an In Touch magazine kind of way), but that is part of why I liked it.
Not a very flattering portrayal of any the candidates, but the Clintons come off worse than I expected. I have no way of knowing if all the allegations are true, though.

Highly readable account of the 2008 presidential election. And yeah, it was good to see my candidate prevail in the end, but also fascinating to see all the behind-the-scenes accounts from each side, humanizing just about everyone (except one unhinged Alaskan) involved.
