Loved this look into humanity- raw and real, plus loved the artwork
Finally, finally, I'm reading again! I honestly had a moment there when I thought I'd never be able to finish a book again. That week or so of not reading was dreadful.
This reminded me of All American Rejects' music video, Dirty Little Secrets, with all the postcards and stuff. I haven't thought about that band in ages.
I love this type of book. I know people love to criticize these types of books. You know, the ones that give loads of people a chance to share parts of their life. I love seeing all these stories. I love how short sentences can throw me into imagining a person's life. I love sympathizing with complete strangers. I love feeling disgusting, depressed, sad, horrified and completely elated in the span of a few pages. This book was definitely my type of book and I stumbled on it on a right day.
I read this while listening to flatsound's album "sleep". They work so well together. If you want a spiritual adventure, I highly recommend listening to it while reading this book. Or while walking around in a public space. Or just anywhere, it's a great album and a great band. Here's the link to the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QDeuqgGQaY
So many types of people pop out in this book. I thought it was pretty cool to see Hebrew, as well as Braille. Maybe some of the stuff is fake. Maybe not. I don't know and, honestly, I don't care. If someone lied, it makes it even more interesting and cool.

Love these books and the website. Sad and wonderful.
I love PostSecret - I think the blog is brilliant - but being confronted with so many secrets at once is overwhelming.
I don't take my kids to the playground because I don't like talking to the other moms.
I wish I was the other twin.
No one can turn me on more than my eighth grade boyfriend did.
I am contemptuous of others so it hurts less when they are indifferent to me.

i cannot believe i am just now hearing about this remarkable project. if you know nothing about it check out the blog at http:\\postsecret.com
it's amazing how these brief messages and the images that accompany them are so robust because they are someone's real secret. someone took the time to create that artifact and put it in the mail, and wave goodbye to something so meaningful, and so integral to themselves.
yeah, wow.

so much creativity and raw confessions, what else would an artsy scorpio (me) ever want?
It's an interesting concept that shows that while everyone is different the fear and secrets that we keep are all very similar. In general these books are more art pieces than actual books.
Fascinating, and sad, and revelatory. I'm glad I read this.
