Cute little fantasy novel set in an alternate regency with a mystery that somehow manages to not be particularly stressful despite the very high stakes.

This is a novella so the end came really fast and was wrapped up in a tidy bow just like that. But eh, it works, how she came to the answer no clue.

Alternative history were there is magic and elves in England. The elves stays in their land and there is a truce, but Cassandra does come across one and it has ramifications.

Only men have magic, but Cassandra did have magic too, but not anymore, srsly, why not? What happened. Why are we not told?

Houseparty a la Austen with a mystery to solve.

It was light, delightful and fun. I will totes read more

It's an interesting concept for an alternate world in which the government is matriarchal and the magic users are patriarchal. This story felt rather unpolished to me though so I'd give it 3.5 stars.

It was cute! I would've liked to see more of what politics actually entails-- and if it's the only profession available for gentlewomen? I feel like I didn't get a full idea of the political structure or the role magicians play within the government, and would've like to see a little more of that :)
Otherwise, a delightful and easy read with an entertaining heroine's POV

Snowspelled was delightful. I liked the heroine with her family and ex-fiance and her believable flaws. I thoroughly appreciated how she owned up to her mistakes and sought to correct them and realized that she needed to speak with/confide in people. The "mystery" was well done and the romantic relationship (the highs and lows) was lovely.
