Or my rating is more like 2.5 stars. This book did nothing for me. At first it was slow and I easily bored from it. Then in the middle it picked up and I thought, ok, here we go, I can finish this. Oh man, I couldn't wait to finish this, it was bad. Confusing at times, and just the plot was dead. Sorry Grisham, I haven't read many of your's and this put a sour taste in my mouth to read others that I have heard such good about.
Really loved this book by John Grisham. It's one of many of his that I have, and I've finally got round to starting to read them. I must say, it was definitely a good place to start. The story got more and more gripping as I read further and further, and there were numerous times that I didn't want to put the book down. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!

I was drifting along. That's just it. Not gripping enough, not emotional enough compared to his earlier novels. Even before I reached half of the book, I started to lose concentration and I just don't care enough what will happened to the main character.
Still, a 3.5 rating for my successful finish and a bit of excitement along the way.

I got on the waiting list at my library last year for this book in Kindle format. I was glad when it was finally my turn! I read this one quickly, as I do most Grisham books. Once he sucks you in, it's extremely hard to put down his books :)
