Gorgeous, manga-influenced illustrations are the best part of the graphic novel. The story doesn't stand alone; this is clearly a first volume. Nice big print and relatively few words per page make this a good choice for fantasy lovers who aren't ready for Bone.

Some decent mystical elements, I liked the circus, but left questioning some of the backstory elements that weren’t explained

As usual for the first graphic novel in a series, I want to reserve judgement until the second, but it was ok. Did not blow my socks off but was goodish.

3 1/2 stars. Decent beginning to what seems like a good series for kids.

I don't read many graphic novels, but I really liked this one. Monster taming gypsies and very skillful yet cute illustrations! Can't wait to read the next one!

Short and fast paced, this story centers on Mouse, an orphan who hangs on to the edges of a traveling circus, who revels in fairy tales and wants to be a monster-tamer. She gets caught up in her very own fable, tangling with a shape-shifter, an imp and monster with a tender heart. Clearly the set up of the beginning of a longer tale.

I scoured the library database for any and all comics/ graphic novels (that weren't the usual Marvel or DC fare, I'm tired of trademark characters) and I'm glad that I found this one.

The art and story was very cute, and I really hope there'll be more.

I've since bought a copy as well.

First Look:
Cute, but creepy.

2.5 rounded up

The dialogue left something to be desired, though the illustrations were well done. The story felt rushed or incomplete, and the characters didn't seem to have much personality.

It did have potential and I'm willing to give the sequel a chance before giving up on the series.
