I hadn't read the first Sookie in a while, so it took me a while to get back into the characters. It was an entertaining read and one that compelled me to read it quickly. I'm interested in reading the next book to see where the details revealed in the last few pages lead...

The scenes with Eric are interesting. Otherwise Sookie is a boring character and the writing is stilted. Like a train wreck I’ll keep reading. If it wasn’t for True Blood I wouldn’t bother, but I’m interested in Eric’s character enough to keep going.

I am slowly getting into the Sookie series , being from Shreveport, I thought I would give them a try and they haven't let me down yet lol!!
A great continuation of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I like looking at the differences between the books and TV show (True Blood on HBO). The characters seem slightly different in the books, but that's ok.

Después de la locura que fue el primer libro empecé este metiéndole todas las fichas y no me convenció tanto.
Sookie sigue siendo una genia y amo lo empoderada que está, pero en esta oportunidad empezó a actuar un poco como la damisela en apuros y me jode porque en el libro anterior no necesitaba que nadie la salvara.
Esta segunda entrega de los vampiros sureños nos introduce dos subtramas a lo largo de la novela. En primer lugar tenemos el asesinato de un personaje al principio que se vuelve un poco más turbio considerando que es un tipo de color y gay y que Sookie lo encuentra muerto en el auto de un policía. La segunda subtrama es la que sucede en Dallas donde la mandan a Sookie a investigar la desaparición de un vampiro de un nido de allá y como parece que está trabajando, o más bien al servicio de los vampiros allá va a investigar el asunto. Acá nos introducen a una secta religiosa anti vampiros que termina siendo mucho más turbia y peligrosa que los mismos vampiros.
También introducen nuevas criaturas paranormales como la que ataca a Sookie al principio para darle un mensaje a Eric, una criatura de lo más peculiar que termina ayudándolos a resolver el misterio del asesinato al final.
Sookie tiene varias peleas con Bill aunque siguen volviendo y perdonándose, pero esas peleas dan pie a que se relacione con otras personas. Se empieza a reforzar la relación con Eric que se está volviendo mi personaje favorito después de Sookie y Sam. Como lo leí hace unos meses al libro y colgué en reseñarlo ya no lo tengo tan fresco, pero me da curiosidad ver cómo sigue la historia y sigo bancando mucho a Sookie.

It is actually more of a 3.5. definitely better written than the first.
So easy to become attached and care about Sookie. She is such a likeable character. I can't wait to read the next one.
Decided to work my way through the Sookie Stackhouse series again, and have enjoyed it just as much as the first time I read them I read the books first, then watched the TV series, which I also loved! I know that people either love or hate this series, I am on the love it side of the fence!

I like how this one starts off relatively normal at the very beginning before hitting you with an intense scene. You get to see how everyone is handling Bill being part of the community.
There are some great moments of humor sprinkled in that earn a chuckle from the reader.
Writing continues to pull the reader in and the added addition of even more supernatural beings is very interesting and adds to the story to some degree.
