Enjoyed this friends to lovers story. Jack and Allie were cute. Jack’s mother wasn’t very likable and kept getting in the way of their happiness.

I’d like to thank Give Me Book Promotions for sending me an e-arc of this, the description drew me to this immediately and I loved every moment of this book! I was hooked from the start!

I loved Allie and how she was willing to help Jack with everything, and their friendship, I also loved how every Sunday night they had a little takeaway date. It was so cute, I loved how sarcastic she was. I loved that she was also awkward but in a different way to Jack. They were both awkward but differently. Together they worked perfectly.

Jack, oh my god, he was funny although some of the stuff he was doing was rude when it came to dates and offensive. It was hilarious. I loved how much he cared for Allie.

Jack and Allie both represent what it is like to love your best friend and yet be scared that if you act on it the relationship will change. Being that I’ve been in that situation I get where both Jack and Allie were coming from, it’s hard and you have to weigh in the good and the bad options for changing their relationship. Lucky for them two it worked and they managed to not destroy their friendship by having a relationship. At times it was dicey and sometimes at times they were both willing at different times to try and go back to being friends but with both fighting for each other. I loved their relationship and it’s a positive that it turned good for them. From best friends to love.

I love how Allie went into blogging about Jack and it was really good to see blogging in stories. I also loved how much books were mentioned and that she got Jack to read some romance stories!

Basically, in short, I loved everything about this novel and it was so cute and lovely and it was what I needed to read!

This friends to lovers romance was absolutely charming and laugh out loud funny. It's impossible not to fall in love with Jack. He's sexy, sweet, and thoroughly adorable, in spite of his penchant for saying things that aren't always appropriate. He and Allie are so good together, even before they actually admit it. She did frustrate me a bit with her indecision and Jack's mother needed a good shake, but it all worked wonderfully for this impossible to put down romance. I tend to be pretty hard on romcoms and tend to go into them with a bit of trepidation, but this one is a hit from start to finish. It's a well-written, light hearted read that is low on angst and high on fun.

No fue malo. Fue muy tierno, super lindo y rápido de leer. Me encantaron los personajes pero hubo un momento donde me hubiera gustado sacudirlos para hacerles entender, pero después de eso, todo fue super hermoso.

Jack and Allie have been friends for their entire lives. They have always been totally comfortable just being themselves with one another.

Jack dating is, well, awkward. He never seems to say the right thing at the right time nor has he found the “one” he’s truly looking for. He has an amazing relationship with Allie and has no problem being himself but he can’t just do that with anyone. Or really, won’t do that with anyone. Because he’s in love with his best friend.

Allie wants Jack happy. She wants him to be able to go out on a date with a woman, hell, she’s even tried to set him up. Allie is all for Jack’s happiness and is bound and determined to teach Jack the rules of romance. Yet, she’s not interested in dating anyone. Could it be that she’s in love with her best friend as well?

Awkward is a wonderful story of two friends who have a very strong friendship. The banter between the Jack and Allie, Jack’s POV and when they both finally realize that their feelings are not one sided...magic. The characters, even the secondary, were fantastic. There was enough fun and sexiness with just enough angst to make this book such a wonderful read!

🖋 SNEAK PEAK REVIEW 🖋
This is my first book by Lily Kate and it so definitely did not disappoint. The story of Jack and Allie was such a sweet and down to earth kind of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 stars read that had me itching for more and a HEA that would never be forgotten. It was more than just awkward, cute, and something building over the years. It was years in the making anticipating its release for explosion but if only they can get pass the friend's stage. For a romantic comedy I am usually one where it can be a hit or miss. I can easily say that this one is on the top of my list of faves.
