My Sweet Cinderella is the first book that I've read by Lorelei Johnson and I found that I really enjoy her writing style and mature retelling of a fairytale! This story is very short, but that had nothing to do with how easily I got sucked into the story.
This tantalizing tale is a twist on the classic fairytale that we all know since it's targetted for an older and modern audience. The prince is a playboy who seems to have some morally grey characteristics that I wish could have been developed more. Cinderella was also enjoyable to read the perspective of as this version of her is more independent and has some dignity while remaining characteristically kind.
I wish Henri and Cinderella's relationship was developed more without relying on sex. Sex that often only seemed to be for physical enjoyment. There didn't seem to be a lot of build-up to the spicy scenes, they just kind of appeared, but it was never really surprising because of the kind of story that it is
The plot of this story was pretty interesting but I found myself more eager to read the second half of the book. It can be debated what the second half of the book is, but I will refrain from saying when I think it takes place to remain spoiler-free. Although the second half of the book seemed to have great potential, I'm not really holding it against the book because this is a novella and I'm sure those are difficult to write.

I liked the fairy tale perspective. It felt familiar. I think this novella was missing more of the “hotness.” It was all thrown in at the conclusion. There was little tease and lead up.
This novella is a wonderful retelling of the fairytale. Prince "Charming" is more alpha and demanding. The chemistry and banter between the two is great. Quite an enjoyable read.
I went into this book blindly not really knowing what to expect, and man was I pleasantly surprised. I loved every second of this novella. It is an extremely clever retelling of Cinderella with a great steam factor. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a grown up version of a beloved tale!

These books were wonderful to begin with but these rewritten revamped versions...even more incredible!
I loved all the new plot points and scenes. I also really enjoyed having multiple POVs and seeing things from Henri's point of view too.
The old version felt slightly rushed and the ending not quite as impactful as it could have been but this new ending and epilogue really brought the story to a fulfilling conclusion and brought the book to a satisfying end.
The writing was so wonderful (as always) and I found the story far more compelling now that it's been extended and so much more depth written into it.
The new covers are just delightful and the content is just as descriptive, sexy, and delectable.

It was a really quick read but I loved the fact that it is a different, adult take on the Cinderella fairytale. I see some aspect incorporated from other retellings of it but it felt original and pleasurable to read. Not as much spice as I'd have liked but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
