“Hate me all you want, but don’t regret me. Promise me that.”

A beautiful, twisted story of a fated love that could defy years and cross seas.

Wow wow wow! Erik and Livia's story drew me in from the very beginning. I was entranced by the dance that our Songbird and Serpent did throughout the book. Caring, pretending not to care, protecting, being protected, love, hate...LJ Andrews builds an amazing push and pull that keeps you on your toes and wanting more.

All of the characters were written with great care and depth. The anxiety and panic attack rep with Livia was amazing to read, especially as someone that deals with it personally. It was written in such a realistic and relatable way, yet it was never something that classified Livia as weak. I love how Erik was there to support her and remind her of who she is and just how strong she is. And I loved when she showed it! Erik's inner turmoil, and his struggle between holding on to past hate or moving forward with love was so well written. He is the literal definition of morally grey. I totally see how Livia fell for him because I sure did.

The story moved a little slow for me at times, but it was all a build up for those last two chapters. I screamed. I was in a state of shock. I didn't know how to function. So many plot twists and I didn't see any of them coming! Honestly, I think about this story daily, and I can't wait to finish Erik and Livia's story in The Ever Queen.

Definitely read this book if you like:

-Pirates, fae, sirens and witches
-A unique magic system
-Morally grey MMC
-Strong FMC
-Dual POV
-Fated mates
-Touch him/her and ☠️

My serotonin has been boosted immensely between these pages. I cannot recommend this enough, if you want a fast paced romantasy, with vikings & pirates- but make it fae, pick this up immediately.

Top tier!!! Plot twists had me reeling, banter had me squealing, world building & character development was phenomenal.

I was gifted this book by LJ Andrews, with no expectations for anything other than reading it.

This book exceeded my expectations, I have not read Broken Kingdoms, but LJ wrote this book in such a way that you can understand what is happening whether you've read the Broken Kingdom or not. There were pieces that I was curious about and at times a bit confused. But I was supposed to be because it all comes together.

I also loved that there was a build up in the romance, it was a slow burn. There is explicit scenes as well. But if you looking for a true romantic build up with morally grey (but also deep down, like way deep down, he's a cinnamon roll) MMC and FMC figuring herself out and learning more about herself, this is definitely where you wanna look. There are plot twists and betrayal and violence everywhere.

I really enjoyed this one and would recommend it :) always check trigger warnings. There are some pretty gruesome depictions of violence, and a few explicit smut scenes.

Read this book if you love;
• Enemies-to-Lovers
• Villain Gets the Girl
• Reluctant Fated Mates
• Pirates, Fae, and Sirens
• ‘Touch her/him and you die’

If you love to read a story where the villain gets the girl, this book is definitely it and you’ll have to check this out!!

Well-paced and great writing style without any info-dump at the beginning. You’ll also learn to love the characters and explore the world building as the story goes.

The story is told in dual POV, Erik and Livia – the main characters.
Erik can be slightly blood thirsty at times but beneath that is a man with soft heart and I really like getting to know him and his background story.
As for Livia, she cares deeply for her loved ones and I also like her character development especially when she started to show another side of her and I'm hoping to see more of her ‘dark side’ in the next book.

I loveeeee the slow burn enemies-to-lovers from this book, it wasn’t rushed and developed slowly as they began to discover the truth and not seeing one another as enemies anymore.

The last few chapters were my favorite parts of the story, it was quite action-packed with great display of power combine with some sweet and spicy moments from Erik and Livia!
Moreover, the ending totally surprised with that twist! A great way to end the book and makes me wish I have book 2 right now!

Overall, it’s a fantastic story with epic world building and loveable characters making it almost impossible to put down!
I am truly looking forward to read the next book in this series!
