Typical Reynolds with a good message about seeing things differently.

See and think outside the box. It's a cliché, I know, but it's a cliché for a reason.

In some ways it is about art, and the need to look beyond the expected. How do you paint the sky if you don't have blue? In other ways it is about resilience, how do you manage to complete a project with limited resources?

Marisol is an artist and she finds a way to paint the sky and be true to her way/s of seeing.

Wonderful book, with simple illustrations that tie subtly into the story. A fantastic message to go along with it!!

This story has a wonderful main character. She is positive and supportive of her peers. She is a great artist, and she uses it to do good. She makes posters for causes she believes in, and she encourages her peers to be artists too. She is given the biggest challenge of her art "career" when she volunteers to pain the sky only to find she can't use blue. I love that she does not give up, she gets creative.

Wonderful story! Highly recommend!

If you look, really look, and sometimes look closely, rarely is any thing simply black and white... or blue.
