When you start reading a reverse harem, you know you're not looking for anything intellectually stimulating or groundbreaking, but instead the genre falls into what is known as "junk food." There are bad junk food books that are like extra greasy McDonalds or there's top of the line, someone knows what they're doing, Mad Mex Nachos. This one was Nachos. DUDE IT WAS SO GOOD. It kinda fell out of the normal set up of the reverse harem tropes (e.g. one guy is an asshole, one guy is mysterious, and one guy is a golden retriever), but I think in the next few books, this will be fleshed out a bit more. The ending was not what I expected and neither was the stalker subplot. I'm super interested to see what happens, who was stalking her, and then why Archer's blade was where it was. Also I want to know more about Bree, Zane and Dallas. Her dad can drown off the coast of Italy in his fancy yacht for all I care tho.

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book as I tend to find 'Why Choose?' novels are a bit hit or miss. I really, really enjoyed this story though. It was incredibly well paced, and there wasn't any part where I felt like the story was losing its momentum. I liked the characters well enough, although it took me much longer than I care to admit to distinguish the three guys from one another.

I did feel that this was more like a prequel story, as there are still so many threads that need to be unravelled. I also cannot take the word 'engorged' seriously. It reminds me of that scene in '10 Things I Hate About You' and it really threw me off my game - BUT that's just personal preference.

OMG!! THIS BOOK IS SO SO GOOD!!

This book is the type of book that makes you want to not put it down at all and want to read the next books and  find out how the story of the characters continues.

On Halloween night, Kate and Bree were supposed to be at a party, but they snuck into an MMA match where Archer was fighting. Except that the events of that evening lead to something unpleasant for Kate. After a few good months, she returns and when she finds out that those who put her in the situation that evening, live in the same house as her, she is ready to take revenge.

But can this revenge can be done when the these three men are hot and know how to increase the tension between them and her?

Max, Kody and Archer are super hot. I liked Max and Kody the most because they don't hesitate to show their sweet side to Kate.  Archer he's the big alpha and is tougher with Kate, but I liked those moments too.  Let's say that he takes the protectiveness to the maximum.

Thank you Tate James and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the opportunity to read this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.

Tropes: Why Choose, College, Enemies to Lovers, Alphahole, Slow-Burn, Forced Proximity

Small Recap: Madison is framed for the events that happened at the Laughing Clown on riot night. She is put in jail and put on trial, though eventually the charges are dropped, and her father sends her away to live with an aunt until things die down. Madison (M.K.) returns to find out the three guys (Archer, Max, and Kody) that framed her are now living in her father’s new house and her father goes away on vacation without waiting for her to get home.

This was my first Tate James book that I read, well actually I listened to the audiobook. This book was action-packed, suspenseful, steamy and more. Madison is a badass FMC who doesn't take shit from nobody. Her sarcastic sayings towards Archer, Max, and Kody are HILARIOUS. All of the main characters were written great. The only thing I did not like about this book is the Madison's best friend, Bri. I found her to be annoying. This book was an easy read for being a why choose book. All three men were easy to follow, and they all had their own little thing about them that you can't forget. Also, I enjoyed the little aspects of MMA that were thrown into the book.

Well, damn if this book isn't really impressive when it comes to making you feel what MK is feeling. I have rarely felt such justified rage in sympathy with a character as I did with MK. Maybe I was just in the right mood, or maybe Ms. James is just really good at that. Either way, I liked it.

There are a few weird details here and there that might be plot holes, or they are purposeful inconsistencies hinting at future twists. Nothing bad enough to judge by yet. Or, well, okay, one thing. You don't have a previously unplanned college up and running 11 months after a civic disturbance that led to large parts of the town burning down. That's just not possible.

I like how MK is a mix of broken and strong. She has every reason to be a puddle of despair after what she has witnessed and been through. Even so, she refuses to take the guys' shit even when it clearly hits her in her most vulnerable places. She's torn down over and over again, and she just keeps getting back to her feet regardless of how much it hurts. Even when she disassociates due to her PTSD or has a panic attack (yes, these are different things and it irritates me how often authors refer to any episodic symptoms of PTSD as "panic attacks"), she comes back swinging a few hours later.
