I desperately wanted this case to be solved but it took so many random storylines to get there.

I have no idea how this book ended up downloaded on my phone because I had never heard of it, but it was decently short so I started it and it was a happy accident. The story was engaging and I wanted to know what happened. Quick read.

I read this book because it was advertised to be in the same vein as Reconstructing Amelia but it mirrored the other so much that it didn’t feel innovative. Still a good, page-turning read.

Here’s the trouble- there is no slow build, no real finesse to the telling of this story. The dialogue is stunted and predictable, you could read the first few words of any sentence or even paragraph and guess the rest. The chapters written from the teens point of view were particularly obnoxious, distinctly out of touch and hard to read. The end was touching and unrushed, though, which is hard to achieve, so it deserves three stars for that.

The end scene just wrecked me. As a mom I just couldn’t handle it!

Ugh, I wanted to love this book, but I couldn't. It was predictable, and the only reason I bumped this up to three stars was the ending. The ending was so bittersweet and lovely, it almost made up for the rest of the boring book. Almost.

Both predictable and leaves you questioning, which I don't fully understand but enjoyed.

It was difficult to begin but as it went I became more interested and determined to solve the mystery.

In Christina McDonald’s The Night Olivia Fell, Abi gets the call every mother fears: her daughter has fallen from a bridge and is brain dead...but was it an accident or a crime? McDonald reveals the answer in steady, page-turning increments, a gradual unfolding of truths and long-held secrets that culminates in a heart-wrenching resolution. A suspenseful debut that packs an emotional punch.
