3.5 stars...but I’m rounding up because I’m probably still biased from reading the Silent Patient right before this. So, when in doubt...the most obvious answer is the correct answer and that holds true for this book. Which is disappointing ... again though I just read the Silent Patient. This was definitely in the same vein as Reconstructing Amelia. I’m rounding the 3.5 stars up due the fact that the Silent Patient is clouding my judgment
This book’s heart was in the right place, but it swerved into melodrama at the end, so it lost a star.
Schmaltzy and predictable. Reading other reviews made me think I’d enjoy it more if I had (or even wanted) kids.
medium-paced
DNF at 60 percent. Too cliche. The slang used by the kids will be outdated within a year. I figured out the entire plot too quickly. Pass.

Wow! This book had me in suspense, aww, and tears! It kept you guessing what was going to happen next and although the ending was sad, it was also full of Hope. I feel like the characters all had so much growth within the book.
