Premise: British man meets a guy who may or may not be God on a bus, and decides to say "yes" whenever prompted. Hilarity ensues. Mostly true account, mostly compelling read. Very similar to The Know It All by A. J. Abrams.
An excellent read. Very inspiring.
Despite being light-hearted and humorous, it explores a tonne of thought-provoking themes and ideas.
It could be seen as a self-help book, in a way, through its overall message. But it does so better than any self-help book. It's personal. It's real. It's funny. And it teaches you a brilliantly simple moral: Say yes more.
Highly recommend to anyone.

I thought this was hilarious and I am searching out more of Danny Wallace's books based on how much I enjoyed this. I think he is a great writer and I find that it is even funny as it is autobiographical.

- "Danny Wallace lived as if the word 'No' did not exist. He won $45,000, met the world's only hypnotic dog, earned a nursing degree, and travelled the globe."
- "Imagine being completely open. Imagine a life in which we accept every single chance, offer, or challenge - take every single risk."

I don't know about the movie, I don't know if I'm going to see the movie, but the book Yes Man by Danny Wallace is absolutely brilliant. I started reading it last week at Borders, then had to buy it because I couldn't stop thinking about it. Wallace has a really engaging writing style and his adventures are incredibly amusing. You can feel his exhilaration as he begins his adventure into the world of yes, as well as the exhaustion and doubt that overtakes him some time. In the end, the book was surprisingly touching in ways I hadn't expected. It's a humor book, and one that makes you think. At least it did me. So, I really recommend this book.
